Windows 11 could have looked so much better. (23-9-2024)

Windows 11 has had a lot of criticism about its new design. I think the theming looks very nice, but some of the layout changes are a bit questionable, like the centered startmenu for desktop users or the removal of the ability to move the taskbar. The style on the window control buttons is also a bit uneven because the close button has one rounded corner.  Thats why should take some inspiration from the Windows 7 basic theme and have nice-looking rounded buttons in the new style and make it look more like actual buttons. They could also get some inspiration from NT 4.0 with a linear gradient on the title bar this color could be based on your wallpaper or accent color see on image 4 how nice it looks compared to a white bar.

The mess that autoplay is on chromium. (1-9-2024)

So there is a system where you can set your audio or video to play automatically on page load. But that caused unpleasent experiences for users that didn't expect audio to play automatically. So they made the "Media Engagement Index" so it would know where the user would expect audio to play. But because some people delete their search history, they decided to make a second central one too so you wouldn't start from scratch.

Now I have a small site that I want to play a little jingel when you visit, but that gets blocked because I am not on the central Media Engagement Index. So then I think what if I could ask the user for permission but you can't but you can for the microphone or camera? (How up sidedown) And chrome/chromium devs keep patching any work arounds because they can't imagin any reason where autoplay would be important on first load on small sites. (I could name a few) Nekoweb has now gotten into the central Media Engagement Index, so it now bothers me when a loud song starts playing, so I disable the autoplay permission for nekoweb and subdomains. Guess what? It still autoplays, but on my own site it does not. What does the browser not understand about me disabling it for a site?
It does it just buggy so it may or may not autoplay. O and F this site for using js to autoplay obnoxious sounds dogboa2.nekoweb.org
Update: Media experience index overrides my blocked autoplay. WTF

Why I think that firefox is bad. (27-8-2024)

You probably know Firefox as the privacy focused browser and you may know that some hobby websites are only tested on that browser. Because they don't bother testing it on a Chromium one which doesn't really matter because they both try to follow the same web standards. Any way Firefox is not privacy focused at all, why do you think their default search engine is Google instead of Start Page or DuckDuckGo? They also use other Google services in side of the browser and also collect data and send it to the for profit company of Mozila, yes Mozila also has a for profit. Now I do't think the browser (engine) is bad because it does a lot the same as Chromium, except scrollbars Grrr.

The removing of sites from banned users. (25-8-2024)

You may have seen a site disappear, so here and there when you visited a link on a Nekoweb site, it was probibly from a banned user. The banning of a user makes sense, but it creates broken links and causes buttons to disappear from somebody's site and may make their site look worse because they did not copy the resource across. Also having the sites disappear all of a sudden is not very nice but it would make more sense if they weren't listed on the home page. And would give a JS warning("Example: This site has been archived because the owner broke the rules. This is an archive and will be available until some date"); When someone visits the site with a link or url. I would say to only do this on sites that don't contain content that broke the rules.
